About
Hey, I'm Jacob
I build AI systems that work in production — not just in notebooks. At Microsoft, I work deeply in Azure AI and real-world production environments, helping enterprise customers build and debug the kind of systems where "it works on my machine" isn't good enough.
I'm especially focused on agentic AI and multi-agent orchestration — both building these systems professionally and exploring what happens when you let AI agents run your entire development workflow. (It goes better than you'd expect, and worse in ways you wouldn't predict.)
Before Microsoft, I co-founded a startup, built communications intelligence from zero, and picked up three degrees in CS and Physics along the way. I live in the mountains of Wyoming at 7,200 feet, where the air is thin and the WiFi is decent.
Off the clock: hiking, amateur cello, reading about whatever's happening in AI/space/physics, strategy games, and documenting my cats' continued refusal to be impressed by anything I build.
Experience
The Trail So Far
2024 – Present
Senior AI Support Engineer
Microsoft
Deep in Azure AI — the person enterprise customers call when their AI systems break in production. Built TSGBuilder, a multi-agent system that writes troubleshooting guides. Mentoring engineers and occasionally making video content nobody asked for.
2023 – 2024
Azure AI Support Engineer
Microsoft
Started in Azure OpenAI support, quickly became the person people came to for the hard problems — RAG architectures, vector search, Assistants API. Piloted a mentorship model that the org later adopted. Every CSAT was a 5.
2022 – 2023
CTO & Co-Founder
TruckCoinSwap
Co-founded a freight-tech startup. Built the whole stack — Go backend, PostgreSQL, AI-powered document processing. Learned a lot about startup economics and wearing every hat at once.
2020 – 2022
Software Engineer
SturdyAI
Built a B2B communications intelligence platform from scratch to first revenue. NLP models analyzing millions of messages. First real job where I got to build something from zero and watch people use it.
2019 – 2021
Graduate Research & Teaching
University of Wyoming
Blockchain research, teaching emerging tech (VR, Android, robotics) to undergrads, and finishing three degrees. Also where I first learned that explaining things to others is the fastest way to actually understand them.
